Power Wizard – Nitro-Braid 400mt/ 656FT\ White with Red Tracer Electric Fence |
Keeping cows, cattle and other livestock safely within the confines of a fence is of critical importance to farmers and ranchers. Although there are many solutions, the electric fence has proven the most effective. To contrary belief, barbed and woven wires can be harmful and more expensive when it comes to corralling livestock. Electric fencing is the most cost-effective, safe and easy-to-maintain solution for protecting your cattle. Weeds and the condition of the earth can impede the flow of electrical current.

Horse Fence Safety
We at Electric Fencing Supplies are proud of Horse Safe & ElectroBraid’s outstanding safety record over the past 10+ years that we have been selling these products in Australia.
Our Company Mission is to supply quality products to the equine & cattle industries in Australia, to build safe fences for horses and other animals. We listen carefully to our customers and we act on their suggestions and advice, that’s what makes us at Electric Fencing Supplies a market leader in Australia for Equine Electric Fencing Supplies.
Many prominent equine vets say Horse Safe & ElectroBraid® are one of the safest fences for horses. At least 40,000 horses are now fenced behind Horse Safe & ElectroBraid®. According to independent market research, 99% of all customers recommend Horse Safe & EllctroBraid to their friends.
The Horse Safe & ElectroBraid® Fence System is designed to minimize injuries and secure horses safely. There are no sharp points or hard edges; no boards to break or splinter. Most severe fence injuries happen when a horse panics, or is chased by another horse, and runs ‘blind’ into a rigid fence. ElectroBraid® is a forgiving fence because it is resilient, like a boxing ring. Horse Safe & ElectroBraid® tends to bounce the horse right back with little harm to horse or fence!
Horse Safe & ElectroBraid® is a psychological barrier. We advise our customers to always maintain at least 5,000 volts and good electrical grounding to ensure their horses receive a significant electric shock – – not just a “bee-sting”. A shock from an approved electric fence energizer is not harmful because the shock is low amperage for a tiny fraction of a second (similar in duration to a static shock from your TV set). A UL or CSA approved energizer won’t harm a two year old child or new born foal.
Injuries with Horse Safe & ElectroBraid® are very rare. If any incident occurs, please call so we can discuss how best to prevent a repetition.
To keep your horses safe, use good horse sense:
- Know your horses and recognize the limitations of your property.
- Don’t turn off your fence energizer to save electricity. The cost of electricity for a fence energizer is the same as a 100-watt light bulb – about a dollar a month.
- Regularly inspect your fence to ensure the Braid™ is taut and properly electrified.
- Take particular care to make sure your fence is well grounded. 95% of all electric fence problems are due to poor grounding. Check your installation manual or our website, or call us for advice.
- Use a hot-cold system – ground the second-from-the-top-strand of Horse safe or Electrobraid®.
- Separate stallions from other horses. Use a laneway if needed.
- Provide a sandy area for horses to roll (away for electric fence) if your horses are inclined to roll close to your fence.
- Always introduce a horse to a new pasture. For your own safety, turn OFF the fence energizer so the horse you are leading won’t get accidentally shocked and bolt. Lead the horse around the fence perimeter. Once the horse understands the boundaries of its new pasture, release the horse and turn the energizer back on.
- Take particular care when you introduce a new horse to a pasture where other horses have an established pecking order.
- Don’t torment your horses with accidental electric shocks by putting water troughs close to your electric fence, hanging grain pails on your fence posts, or throwing hay near your electric fence.
- Install your Braid fence as recommended with 3 or more strands of Braid™ .
- Horse Safe & ElectroBraid® is engineered for your horses’ safety. Don’t take shortcuts!
- Please manage your horses with care and maintain your fences. Courts hold the property owner responsible for the security of their animals.
- Most important – do not skimp the size of your energizer (always go bigger than you think) as it is the only thing that is keeping the voltage in your fence.
We welcome your comments and suggestions.
